Document stamps

Documents in the Plant document type group are given a document stamp. The Document Stamp property is used to set the Status property of released, published, or as-built documents that have already completed their document workflows.

The document stamp is automatically set for new documents and project copies. The Document Stamp property must be modified before the document can be released as a master revision and cannot be the initial value. The Status property is set to the value of the Document Stamp property upon release of project copies as master revisions.

When the Approve transition of a document occurs, the user is asked to select the Document Stamp value of the document from a list or accept the default. The Document Stamp values are shown from the Stamps lookup list in the vault's configuration.
